Donna Kay Rose, born on October 7, 1955, in Norton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 in Bristol, Tennessee. A dedicated homemaker, Donna poured her love and energy into creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Her kindness and inviting nature made everyone who crossed her path feel at ease, a true testament to her gentle spirit.
Donna was a proud graduate of Clintwood High School. She cherished the simple pleasures of life, most notably spending time with her family, particularly during the holidays. These joyful gatherings created lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. In addition, she enjoyed the time she spent babysitting and teaching Sunday School.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Rose, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years of marriage; their daughter Katie Rose, sisters, Kathryn Stanley (Johnny), and Peggy Childress (Bill Farmer), and brother Tommy Childress (Diana), along with several nieces and nephews.
Donna will be missed deeply by her family and friends, who will remember her not only for her unwavering love and support but also for the joy and light she brought into their lives.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice House, Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Johnson City Medical Center, Bristol Regional Medical Center, Signature Health and Dr. Youn for the wonderful care they provided to Donna.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Robby Coggins officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hills Memory Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will be nephews.
