Donna Scheuerer Obituary

Donna Scheuerer passed away on August 30, 2015. Donna was born on March 30, 1938 in Hildreth, Nebraska to John and Hannah Schmidt. She was the last of eight children. As her mother was unable to finish school, it was very important to her that her children did. All of the children, including Donna, were able to graduate high school.Having grown up during the end of the depression and the war years, the family learned to get by with little. This influenced Donna's love to go shopping in her later years, especially with her grandchildren. When Donna left home, she settled in Omaha. At a dance in 1957, she met the love of her life, Fred Scheuerer. They were married in 1958. Donna and Fred kept dancing regularly until recently. From this union were born two sons, Richard and David. She was a loving mother and was always involved in our lives. After her sons started school, she started to work at Initiative Learning Center. After a fire destroyed the school, she started to work for several attorneys in the valley. She then worked with bankruptcy trustees until she retired. Donna was very involved with the Nampa Eagles Auxiliary, serving as president several times. Her proudest moment was when she was selected to be the Eagles Auxiliary State President.Donna was predeceased by her parents and six of her siblings. Her husband, Fred, passed away this year on July 10th.She is survived by her sons, Richard and his wife Glenna, and their children, Thomas, Rachel, and Luke; David and his wife Susan, and their children, Sheree, Kaylee, and Allison. Also, she had two great-grandchildren, Kenna Bodewig, and Joshua Piszcek.A visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise. Funeral Services will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm, followed immediately by a committal at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to invite everyone to join them for a reception immediately following the committal at the Eagles Lodge in Nampa, 118 11th Ave N., Nampa.
