Donna Kay Schwitters, 68 of Lubbock, Texas passed away on November 17, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada where she has resided for 20+ years.
Donna was born in Vernon, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Howard O. Wallis (Bud and Gracie) on May 13, 1954.
Donna was an incredible athlete competitive in sports and career. Donna played Tennis both at Estacado High School and Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas. In her 20's she played softball. Donna was a bowler, a golfer, a poker and slot player, and a highly competitive pool player.
Upon moving to Las Vegas in 1998 Donna went to dealer school and quickly worked her way up to becoming a pit boss for the Gold Strike Casino and Hotel of Jean, Nevada. Donna was beautiful and full of life. She never met a stranger and loved to have fun. She was an amazing wife and mother with a nurturing nature and giving heart.
Donna has resided in Vernon, Texas, Lubbock, Texas, Little Rock, Arkansas, Tucson, Arizona and finally made her life home in Las Vegas, Nevada a city with energy to match her love for life.
Donna is preceded in death by her younger brother Howard Lynn Wallis.
Donna is survived by her husband Jan Schwitters, married June 12, 2002; daughter Danya Cheek and spouse Thomas W. Cheek, Jr.; three stepsons Shannon Schwitters, Shane Schwitters, and Shelby Schwitters; sister Beth Gagne and husband Gary Gagne; sister Tracie Wallis and husband Shad Campbell; sister-in-law Patti Wallis; and grandson Dayden Cheek.
The viewing will be a small ceremony with immediate family.
The family of Donna wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of the staff at St Rose Sienna who cared for Donna, the residents and staff of Carnegie Independent Living who deeply cared and were a friend to Donna. Most of all of the friends and extended family who have reached out and always had Donna in their hearts and prayers.

Oh, Donna, my dear... I didn“t know you had been sick. The last time we saw each other was around 2004. The 20+ years we knew each other seemed to fly by; the kids grew up, we re-married etc. The day the Angels took you home, a bright light went out in this world. I will always love and remember you.
