Donna Scone Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 23, 2026.
Donna Lee (Kinsman) Scone, born July 26, 1954, passed away February 20, 2026. She was
predeceased by the love of her life, John Gabriel; her mother Joan Hazlett; her twin brother
Donald Kinsman; and brother Mark Kinsman.
Donna, or Mema as the grands called her, is survived by her daughters Eva Lockwood (George
Lockwood); Renee Dimon (Mark Dimon); Crystal Pry (Joseph Pry); her grandchildren Kelsie
Buck (Jordan Buck); Brandon Lockwood (Julia Doyle); Cameron Lockwood (Kira Bush); Kyle
Anderson (Tina Chambers); Iyrus Anderson (Tyler Hunsinger); Matthew Hazen; Caitlyn Hazen
(Sam Baxter); Mallory Dimon; Reese Dimon; great grandchildren Aurora, Kolt, Ayden, and
Elliott; dear friend David Scone; her sister Debra; brother Scott; and her fierce protector, Ozzie
Pawzborn.
Donna's life was rarely easy, but it was never boring. She took on every endeavor with
tremendous strength and tenacity. Being a single mother of three children in the 1980's was no
walk in the park. There was the Christmas where she sold her car to buy the presents, and the
school play where she made the Wizard costume out of her nightgown (the costume was a hit,
by the way, as were all of her homemade Halloween outfits). And let's not forget the Birthday
cakes! Some of them bounced when they were dropped. Long before crafting websites, Donna
was ripping legs of naked Barbies and shoving them into a cake made in a bowl - Bam! You've
got a Princess cake. But she pulled off every task, no matter how long it took - with that dazzling
smile, a home perm, and cigarette in hand.
Becoming a grandmother allowed Donna to really hit her stride. The word "No" left her
vocabulary, and no grandbaby ever wanted for a single thing. They made music out of
kitchenware, gave makeovers, and learned the words they were not supposed to know. A
connoisseur of candy and desserts (her health foods), Donna helped the grandkids appreciate
the finer things in life. You can only imagine what her entrance into Great Grandma Land looked
like...
Donna kept her circle small. If she spent time with you, then she had already decided you were
all right. But even if you were not all right, she would still help you if you needed it. She would
yell at you the whole time, but she would help you. If she had it and you needed it, it was yours.
Per Donna's wishes, there will be no formal service. If you want to do something to remember
her: Go help someone, or buy Valentine's candy on February 15th (when it's on sale), wear a
sarcastic saying on your shirt, or go to the casino. Just don't be bored.
