Donna M Stevens, at the age of 72, passed away on November 30th, 2022.
She was born in July of 1950 in Columbus, Ohio and was daughter of the late Thomas and Grace Sockwell.
Donna did not consider being deaf a handicap. She detested the term, "Deaf & Dumb," and proved her case often. She graduated with an Associate's from CTI currently known as Columbus State Community College. Donna graduated Valedictorian while taking care of three children and working three jobs. After graduating she became employed at Division of Coal Mine Worker's Compensation (Federal Black Lung program) where she eventually became supervisor until retirement.
Donna loved traveling adventures, and took them as often as time permitted. She was a phenomenal cook. When she met her husband, she had a new traveling companion.
She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, baptized in 1971.
She learned and taught sign language at the School for the Deaf back in the late 70's.
Donna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She left behind her husband Donald Stevens, siblings Rusty and Dianne, children Robert and Sidra, grandchildren Gino Jr., Nick, Destiny, Bryan, Rafael, Dominic, Noah, Jaiden, and Gia, and her dog Cici.
