Donna "Susie" (Bush) Ellis, age 79 of Newport, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Clinton, Indiana on February 27, 1946. She was the youngest daughter of Charley & Zula (Trosper) Bush.
Susie first married Kenny High in 1963 and together they had three children, Amy, Kenna and Buddy. She later married James D. Ellis who proceeded her in death on July 11, 2016.
She is survived by her children, Kenna (George) Hinote and Buddy (Wendi) High; son-in-law, Mark Heidbrider; eleven grandchildren, Kylie and Keri (Joe) Heidbrider; Kelsey (Bruce) Payne; George (Linsay), Nathan (Peighton), Justin, and Kenzie Hinote; Gage (Harley), Gatlin, Gunner and Makaeya High; nine great grandchildren, Kaidyn, Tanner, Kamari, Jenae, Thea, Olivia, Remi, Gavin, and Hudson; one sister, Irene (Richard) Omundson; one brother, Orville (Teresa) Bush; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Ellis; her beloved daughter, Amy Heidbrider; eight brothers; and two sisters.
She attended Tangier and Turkey Run Schools. Throughout the years she worked at several area restaurants, including Green Acres and Benjamins in Covington. She was a 55 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Susie was a people person. She loved making friends wherever she went. She never met a stranger and was proud to be a Bush sibling and tell others about her nine brothers and three sisters. She especially loved visits from her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and attending the annual Bush and Trosper family reunions. She enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, and going to the casino.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 11:00am with Pastor Bob Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.
