Donna Carter Ward, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Todd officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00PM and other times at the home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Donna was born to the late Charles L. and Mary Carter on May 10, 1960, in Rockingham County, where she was a life-long resident. She was a nurse for many years at various nursing homes in the community. Donna loved going to White Lake for vacation, her dog Charlie, and enjoying a slice of pizza. More than anything, she loved her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Carter Ware and niece, Angela “Nikki” Hyler.
She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Joe Ward; daughter, Angel Davis Norman; grandchildren, Brooklynn Norman (Grace), Joshua “Jacob” Norman (Joe); special granddaughter, Adrianna “Libby” Hyler; nieces, Heather Heffner, Crystal Lane, and Amanda Inge.
