Donna Windmiller Obituary

Donna M. (Snyder) Windmiller, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed into God's loving embrace on February 2, 2025, She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 13,1929 to W. Cloyce and Edna (Mourey) Snyder. After completing her education, Donna worked in the banking industry, advancing from Branch Operations to Human Resources, was heavily involved in bank mergers and acquisitions, and was known to travel throughout the state via helicopter. She was the first woman Vice President of a bank in Fort Wayne history. She retired from NBD Bank as a Senior Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors. On June 24, 1950, she married Dale E. Windmiller, making Fort Wayne their home. Donna spent her later years in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, where she was cherished by her family and friends. She was a role model and devoted mother to her five children: Lynne (Patrick) Goneau, Gregory (Susan) Windmiller, Gary (Rebecca) Windmiller, James (Merri) Windmiller, and Janice (Gary) Hooten. Donna also leaves behind 14 adored grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved brother, William Snyder, and countless memories that will stay with her family forever. Donna was a devout Catholic who served as a Minister of the Eucharist at Parkview Hospital and volunteered with many organizations over the years, including The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Matthew 25 and the Christ Child Society. She was an extraordinary and competitive bridge player, a wonderful hostess, and enjoyed golfing, cooking and baking. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Windmiller, her parents, W. Cloyce and Edna Snyder, and siblings Marilyn Schieber, Daniel Snyder, Margaret Ann Elston, Joyce Stover, Joan Finkhousen, and daughter in law, Rebecca Windmiller. There will be a Funeral Mass held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 am, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. The family will receive relatives and friends for one hour prior to the mass. Entombment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Arrangements were made at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, Huntertown, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Donna M. Windmiller may be made to the Christ Child Society of Fort Wayne, and The Muscular Dystrophy Association. Online condolences may be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
