On Thursday, October 28, 2025, Mr. Donnie David Caraway, also known as “Rock” 65, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend passed away at his home.
Donnie was born January 5, 1960, in Anson County, NC and was a son of Sarah Elizabeth Liles Caraway and the late James David Caraway. He was educated in the public schools of Anson County and had worked for a number of years in the poultry industry.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Caraway of Wadesboro, NC; his wife, Barbara Leak of McFarlan, NC, his step-daughter, Nicole Leak of Charlotte, NC; his step-son, Levander Greene of Wadesboro, NC; his brother, Reginald Caraway (Linda) of Morven, NC; his sisters, Minister Dianne Sturdivant (Elder Tony) of Pageland, SC, Cindy Townsend (William), Minister Sylvia Capel (Ronald), Angela Tillman (Butch) and Janet Caraway all of Wadesboro, NC; his sister-in-law, Karen Parsons of Newark, NJ; his grandchildren, Ziquan Richardson, Nehemiah Greene, and Savannah Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
He also leaves dear friends, Mike Lowery (Shelley), Karen Lowery, Jay C. Richardson, Donica Little, and Zantae Little.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “Boobie” Parsons, his sister, Karine Caraway, his son, Robert Gainey and by his friend, Fred Lowery.
There will be a memorial service at 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
