Mr. Donnie Gray Cassity, age 89, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Monday, May 20th, 2024 at 5:55 AM at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Donnie was born on November 16, 1934 in Lafayette, TN, to the late Oakley Cassity and the late Edith Mae (King) Cassity.  He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Terry Lee Cassity and Donnie Allen Cassity; 2 brothers, Bobby Gene Cassity and Paul Cassity; a grandson, Kyle Wilson Cassity; and a great-grandson, John Rimmel.

He is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Linda Cassity; 3 children, Troy Cassity (Heather) of Franklin, KY, Tracy Cassity (Debra) of Rockfield, KY and Lisa Luongo, of Franklin, KY; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Harold Cassity of Franklin, KY, Faye Forshee of Franklin, KY and Linda Link (Teddy) of Huntington Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Donnie was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.  He was a retired truck driver for Potter & Brumfield/Siemans for 42 years and also for Pennyroyal Nursery for 12 years.  He enjoyed truck driving, woodworking, coin collecting and was an avid NASCAR fan, attending 59 Daytona 500s.
