Donnie Driggers, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Pruitt Healthcare in Millen. Born on February 17, 1948, Donnie developed a lifelong passion for automobiles, dedicating many years of his career to Baxter's Auto Body, where his skills and craftsmanship were deeply valued. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army.
Outside of his professional life, Donnie found joy in building his own race car and truck, relishing the thrill of drag racing. His enthusiasm for cars extended to his leisure time, where he also enjoyed fishing, activities that brought him immense happiness and fulfillment throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Nina Mae Driggers; his devoted wife of 47 years, Mary Beth Driggers; his brothers, David Driggers and Larry Driggers.
Donnie is survived by his two daughters, Crissy (Ruben) Melendez of Woodstock and Julie Lagrone (Mark Hughes) of Glennville; grandchildren, Jon Driggers, Anna Driggers, and Connor Melendez; brother, Gary Driggers of Glennville; several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Penny Deal and Jennifer Shurling
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024 beginning at 6:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will conducted 2:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 from the chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with the Bishop James Holland officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
