Donnie Gene Hatchett

Donnie Gene Hatchett, age 79, of Springfield, KY passed away at 12:35 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.

He was born on April 13, 1946 in Lebanon, KY to the late Porter and Mattie Frances Lanham Hatchett.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and a farmer.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Bridgett Gibson on October 5, 2003, a sister, Betty Laura Hatchett on August 9, 2008, a brother, Billy Charles Hatchett on Jun 10, 2020 and a niece, Susan Burns on May 12, 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Dennis Hatchett; a daughter, Ginny Hartley (Jason); a son, Ronnie Guy (Michelle) of Springfield; three grandchildren, Courtney Hagenbuch (Jacob), Tyler Hartley and Savannah Hartley; two great grandchildren, Olivia Hagenbuch and Lane Hagenbuch; two sisters, Jane Thompson (Tony) of Lebanon and Carol Pevley (Gary) of Springfield and two brothers, David Hatchett (Judy) and Jerry Hatchett (Arlene) of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7th at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Roy Cagle, officiating. He will be assisted by Bobby Joe Mattingly.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Sherrill, Brad Burns, Chad Thompson, Mike Hatchett, Eric Hatchett and Chris Hatchett.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Saturday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 1:00 Sunday at the church.
