The funeral service for Donnie Homan will be held at Curry-Welborn funeral home on Wednesday, January 10, 2023, at 11am. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service. The graveside service will be held at Nevill's Chapel cemetery and will immediately follow the service.
Donnie Homan, born on February 16, 1945, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, peacefully passed away in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, on January 5, 2024. He was the beloved son of Glen and Dorothy Homan.
Donnie proudly served in the United States Air Force, dedicating himself to his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he found his second home at the Red River Army Depot, where he dedicated years to his work before retiring.
A man of unwavering faith, Donnie was a cherished member of Landmark Pentecostal Church in Texarkana, Texas, for an impressive 45 years. At the time of his passing, he was also an active member of Life Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas, where his presence and contributions were deeply valued.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Marcellyn Homan, and his legacy lives on through his children: Jeff and Teresa Homan, Donna and Anthony Rasor, Jonathan Homan, Paula and Mike Carpenter, Stephen and Tammy Homan, and Tommy Cash. He is also survived by his dear sister, Linda Beam.
His memory will forever be cherished by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces, and 1 nephew. Donnie is preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Cara Homan, as well as his parents, Glen and Dorothy Homan, his brother Tom Homan, his sister Marlissa Straight, and his daughter-in-law Connie Sparrow.
Donnie Homan leaves behind a lasting legacy of service, faith, and love. His impact on the lives of those who knew him is immeasurable, and he will be fondly remembered for his dedication to family, his country, and his faith. In this time of mourning, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
