DONNIE LEWIS WHITAKER, affectionately known as "Don," passed away on February 14, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 20, 1946, in Dallas, where he lived out his passions and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
As a dedicated contractor, Don built not only structures but also strong relationships and a reputation for excellence. His outgoing personality made him a cherished figure among his peers and clients alike. Don had a unique ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger, and his spirited debates were well-known among friends. A man of deep faith, he embodied the principles of kindness and humility that come with being a man of God.
Outside of his professional life, Don was deeply passionate about wood working, cultivating his yard, and cooking delicious meals that brought family and friends together. His home was often filled with laughter, conversation, and the delightful aroma of his culinary creations.
Don’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind cherished memories that reflect a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever be remembered. He had an extraordinary capacity for knowledge and conversation, and his contributions to his community, both in work and in fellowship, will not be forgotten.
