Lonnie Ray Allen, beloved husband, father, and friend, embarked on his eternal journey on November 18, 2025, leaving a profound legacy of love and memory that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on July 25, 1965, in the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas, Lonnie was the embodiment of joy and warmth, captivating everyone with his radiant presence and infectious spirit.
A stalwart truck driver, Lonnie navigated not only the highways of Texas but also the winding paths of life with unwavering dedication. His work was not merely a profession; it was a testament to his character as a provider, protector, and nurturer. Much like his love for the open road, his love for his wife, Karen, and his children was boundless, inspiring all around him. He took immense pride in being a husband and father, his proudest accomplishments defined by the stability and love he provided to his family. Lonnie’s loved ones will cherish fond memories of him passionately extolling the joys of life, from lively conversations filled with laughter to comforting embraces that spoke of his unwavering support.
Lonnie will be remembered as a man who never met a stranger—a sociable force of nature whose laughter could light up any gathering. Known affectionately as “Blackie,” he had an uncanny ability to bring the best out of everyone, cultivating friendships that would stand the test of time. He possessed the unique gift of connecting with others, effortlessly weaving tales of wisdom and humor into the fabric of everyday life. His love for basketball and tinkering with cars were beloved hobbies that showcased his hands-on spirit, while his time spent as a youth leader demonstrated his dedication to nurturing the next generation.
Although he has departed from this earthly realm, Lonnie's impact resonates deeply within the lives of those who survive him, including his devoted wife, Karen Allen, and his three beloved sons, Mason, Garett, and Elijah Allen. His daughters, Katherine Battle (Zach) and Sarah Thompson (William), continue to carry forth his legacy of love and laughter, alongside his cherished grandchild, Castle Pruett. Lonnie also leaves behind siblings Carolyn Allen, Waymon Allen, Billie Allen, Ronnie Allen, and Sandra Sparks, who will remember him fondly in every shared moment of joy and sorrow.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon and Joann Allen, his daughter Joan Nicole Allen, and his sister Juanita Blanchard. While his absence creates a void that reverberates with sorrow, those who loved him will find comfort in the memories he leaves behind—a tapestry of moments filled with laughter, love, and a spirit that will forever live on through the countless lives he touched.
