Donovan Folden Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donovan Bergman Tremont Folden, who peacefully departed this life in the evening hours of November 6, 2025, after 97 remarkable years.
Born September 19, 1928, in Thief River Falls MN. He was baptized and confirmed in Newfolden MN. Early life lived and worked on the farm in Marshall County MN. 1946 graduated High School in Newfolden, MN.
He attended 1 year of Normal School in Norman County and was a teacher for 1 year in Norman County and then 1 year as principal in Norman County.
1950-1954 He was in the Navy in the Korean War.
September 2, 1950, he married Barbara Sethre at Moorhead MN. They lived in Memphis, TN, Anacortes, WA, Oakland, CA, Fargo ND, and Wahpeton ND.
1956-1960 NDSU pharmacy school. Graduated with a BS in pharmacy. May 1960, he bought the Corner Drugstore in Wahpeton, ND. He was a pharmacist there for 35 years. He retired in 1993.
He is a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, ND. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN.
Donovan is survived by his son Paul Donovan (LeeAnn) Folden, Wahpeton his daughter Nancy Louise (Mustafa) Halilovic Fargo 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Grandchildren: Dustin Paul (Trisha) Folden Lafayette, IN; Braden Donovan (Candice) Folden Vergas, MN; Alexandra Lee (Mitchel) Nickolauson Vergas, MN; Turner Jameson (Tatiana) Folden Grand Forks ND; Aron Donovan Halilovic Fargo, ND; Donovan Paul Halilovic Fargo, ND; and 1 nephew Terrance Folden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, brother-in-law Wallace Stuart Sethre, Brothers: Howard Folden, Leslie Folden, Eugene Folden and a stillborn brother, 2 nieces Michelle (Folden) Prestebak and Donelle Folden.
Donovan lived a life filled with experiences and memories that touched the hearts of many. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the positive impact he had on those around him.
