Doralou and I met at Light and Life Christian Day School when I had Melody in Kdg. We became good friends along with
Elaine . I stopped teaching when my first child came along and awhile after that she took my place at Light and L. We corresponded many years after I moved back to NYS. Loved her dearly!!!!

Oh my, I dont even know where to begin, Doralou and I have so many memories which go clear back to when our kids were young. In fact I had the girls in Kdg. at Light and Life Christian Day School. Doralou and I have shared so many happy times together. We also shared our sorrows and had mutual friends, Elaine Anderson, and Madonna Dimick that we all kept in contact with for years. We cried when I moved back to NY, but talked on the phone periodically.
One year I visited her in Escondido and one of our fondest places to go was Lawrence Welk's for date cream pie. Loved every moment we spent together. She was my sis in Christ, so we will meet again! Nancy

My condolences to the family. I was fortunate to have met Dora about 30 years ago. She is truly a wonderful woman who was always kind and caring to everyone. She will live on in loving memory. God bless. Love, Vincent Alvarez, an old friend of her daughter, Melody.

As a child in Mississippi, I was a neighbor of the Waggener family. Dora Lou was the older sister of my classmate Sara. I basically grew up with this family in our neighborhood of 27 children on our block. Dora Lou was nearer my older brother's age. She was an "actress" at our elementary school giving her performance of "Minnie Pearl" from the Grand Ole Opry fame. As we grew to adulthood, we became closer through correspondence and occasional phone calls. My brother, his young family and I with my 3 sons drove to Escondido to spend a couple of nights there with Dora Lou and her younger daughter. Later, we went to Anaheim to spend time with Sara Beth and her husband and go to Disneyland where Dora Lou's older daughter was working for the summer. Many, many fond memories of our neighborhood and our growing up in the 40's and 50's. We went our separate ways to college, then marriage and families scattered away from Mississippi. The Waggener "girls" landing in California. Their parents stayed a night with us in Arlington, Texas when moving to California to be close to their "girls". We visited with them when Charles and I went to California. Later, driving down to Escondido to pick up Dora Lou and drive to La Jolla. Many, many memories!
