Dora Sementilli, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she encountered, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on May 7, 1961, in Montreal, Canada to her parents Loreto and Caterina. Dora spent her life embracing the joys of family, the beauty of nature, and the simple pleasures that painted her days with love and laughter.
As an Executive Secretary, Dora exemplified dedication in her career, but it was her role as a mother, wife, and confidante that truly defined her life. She was married to her beloved husband, Augie, and together they navigated the journey of life hand in hand, creating a loving home filled with warmth and kindness. She was greatly adored by her daughter Carina, who is married to Scott Velez, and her son Marco, who is married to Rita Sementilli. Her spirit will forever live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, Vincent, Pia, and Martina, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Dora's vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. She was known for her caring nature and an infectious positivity that inspired those around her to appreciate life’s small wonders. Her love for cooking culminated in many cherished family gatherings where her culinary creations were lovingly shared. Dora had a special affinity for the beach; it was there that she felt most alive, embraced by the warm sun and the sound of waves lapping at her feet. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing soul, blooming with sunflowers which were her favorite.
She carried with her a love for the color yellow, a symbol of her sunny disposition and the light she brought into the lives of her family and friends. Dora's positive outlook on life was a guiding force for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She taught those around her to live fully, filling each day with laughter, love, and gratitude.
Dora was also surrounded by a circle of love beyond her immediate family. She shared a special bond with her sister-in-law, Josephine, and her brother-in-law, Pasquale, as well as with her dear brother Sergio. They understood and celebrated the magic of family, forging connections that would last a lifetime. Dora’s beloved dog, Regina, and her furry grandbabies, Jeter and Bernie, were also a testament to her nurturing spirit and the love she extended to all creatures.
Dora is predeceased by her beloved father, Loreto, whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved them both.
To know Dora was to be enveloped in pure love. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and an unwavering belief in the power of family. We hold her memory close, remembering her kind heart and the light she shared with us all. May her vibrant spirit continue to shine brightly in the lives of her family and friends, guiding us as we carry her love forward.
