Dora Wyler Torrez, 88, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born and raised in the Martinez Town neighborhood of Albuquerque, a place she proudly called home throughout her life.
Dora was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was the center of her life. She was the beloved mother of Joseph, Lillian, Michael, Nancy, Rosily and Susan.
She also leaves behind grandchildren: Alex Torrez, Ashley Cruz, Bobby Cordova, Daniel Torrez, Mikey Torrez, Nevissa Raymond, Sierra Raymond, and Tarrin Torrez, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren.
For many years, Dora worked in the cafeterias of Albuquerque Public Schools, where she took pride in helping feed and care for generations of local children. She loved being part of the school community and took great joy in making sure every child was taken care of.
Dora will always be remembered for her strong spirit, her stubborn determination, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She made the best fried potatoes anyone had ever tasted and was famous among family and friends for her delicious natias. She loved to get dressed up and go dancing, and some of her grandchildren's fondest memories include making painted "pet rocks" with her to decorate her garden.
Dora's family will remember her laughter, her traditions, and the love she poured into her family and home. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and unforgettable family memories.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
