Ruby Monica Lovato Torrez, 53, of Albuquerque, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ruby was born in Albuquerque to Placito Lovato and Clorinda Lovato, who preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of her beloved hometown, Ruby built a life centered on family, dedication, and service to her community.
She was a devoted employee of the Treasurer’s Office for Bernalillo County, where she served with integrity and commitment. Through her work, she formed lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues and community members alike.
Ruby’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving mother to Chrystal Porspurg, Tiffany Lewis, Michael Lovato, and Michelle Torrez. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kasey Porspurg, Geo Porspurg, Andrew Torrez, and Xylah Torrez, who brought endless light and happiness into her life.
She is also survived by her cherished siblings: Pete Lovato, Lorraine Vigil, and Danny Lovato.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sal Torrez; her parents, Placito and Clorinda Lovato; and her sister, Perla Valdez.
Ruby will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The Memorial Service will be held on March 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Trujillo Family Funeral Home ~ 110 Alvarado Dr SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
