"God made a few perfect people - the rest are right-handed."
Together again forever, Doralene Skinner Roskelley and her beloved husband, Frank Roskelley, are reunited at last.
Early Wednesday morning, while she slept, Doralene slipped quietly from this world - peacefully and free.
She was welcomed by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Janette; and her baby, Donald, along with her parents, sisters, brothers, and many loved ones who had gone before.
Doralene Skinner Roskelley, age 93, of
Roy, Utah, passed away on November 6, 2025.
Doralene was born in Georgetown, Idaho, to Ralph Morgan Skinner and Opal Bee Skinner, and spent most of her early life in Smithfield, Utah. It was in Logan, Utah, that she met the love of her life, Frank (Tony)Roskelley. They were married on June 13, 1950, in the Logan Temple. Over the years, they moved several times before settling in
Roy, Utah, in 1956, where they bought their forever home and built a life filled with love and family.
Doralene had a lifelong love of reading. Beyond her own treasured novels, she found great joy in reading to her children and grandchildren - especially her favorite spooky stories, such as "The Golden Arm" and "Little Orphan Annie." She also loved poetry.
A self-taught seamstress, she became a master of alterations - skillfully mending jeans to wedding dresses, relining jackets, and more. Her creativity and care showed in every stitch.
Her happy place was always her garden, where her prized roses and plants flourished. Frank lovingly built her a sunroom, giving her the perfect space to tend to her beloved plants year-round.
Doralene was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, living in the Roy 1st Ward for more than sixty-nine years. She served faithfully in many callings, and she and Frank were Stake Dance Directors for many years. They loved to dance - especially square dancing. Doralene would make her own dresses and matching shirts for Frank, and together they shared countless evenings of music, movement, and laughter.
In addition to her church service, Doralene operated her own alteration business for many years. Even in her later years, her love of books never waned. While bedbound, she read hundreds of mysteries and historical novels - continuing to find joy and adventure through the pages she turned.
Doralene's life was one of love, creativity, faith, and family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosanne Roskelley and Debra Roskelley-Weyburn; her sons, Steve (Carol), Douglas (Michelle), and David (Kammi). She was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Roskelley; her children, Janette and Donald Roskelley; her parents, Ralph and Opal Skinner; her brothers - Ralph, Donald, Gale, Dennis, Gary, and Randy Skinner; her sisters - BettyJean Verhaal and Cleo Griffin; and her son-in-law, Todd Weyburn.
