Marion- Dorcas Anne Cravens, 84, of Marion, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 2:03 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Deaconess Hospital in Marion.

She was born on October 2, 1941 in Denning Township to Edward Ezra and Connie (Chmielewski) Dawson. She married Roger Lee Cravens, Sr. On December 20, 1958 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2013.

She was a hardworking woman who was a retired garment worker and formerly worked at Smoler Brothers in Herrin. She was a member of the Illinois Ladies Garment Workers Union and was of Protestant faith.

She was an active advocate for local crippled children and participated in their activities whenever she was able.

She is survived by her daughters- Gloria (Michael) Spinks of Marion and Teresa (Bruce) Brown of Ferges and son- Roger (Alisha) Cravens, Jr of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren- Ashley (Brandon) Watson, Jason (April) Cravens, Lindsey Coleman, Cody (Haley) Coleman, Noah Hunter Cravens, Baliegh Cravens, Andrew Spinks; five step grandchildren- Mahleah, Alyze, Brock, Emma and Charlee and several great grandchildren; one sister- Helen Dodd of West Frankfort and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews,

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Trinity Full Gospel Fellowship Church/ 515 West 8th Street/ West Frankfort, IL. 62896. Rev. Guy Webster will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Herrin City Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 11:00 Am until time of service, Thursday, at the Trinity Full Gospel Fellowship Church. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie Funeral Home in Herrin.

Memorial donations are suggested to Autism Society of Southern Illinois and may be mailed to ASSI/ P. O. Box 2621/ Carbondale, IL. 62901 or McCluskie Funeral Home/ 501 S. 12th St./ Herrin, IL. 62948.
