Marion- Larry E. Bearden, 84, of Marion, passed away at 6:00 AM, Monday, February 9, 2026 comfortably at his home.

Larry was born on December 21, 1941 in Johnston City to the late Jean "Red" and Mavis Bearden (Roach). He met the love of his life, Debbie McNeely in 1975 and they married on July 31, 1979, sharing over 50 wonderful years together; she survives of Marion.

Larry was a United States Army Veteran and was honorably discharged. He was a hardworking man and owned and operated his own construction company, "Larry Bearden Construction", in Marion for more than 30 years. Larry drove for Marion Toyota until he officially retired in 2021.

He was of protestant faith and was civically active as a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club. Of all Larry's accomplishments, nothing made him more proud than his children and grandchildren, who brought endless joy, laughter, and love into his life. Larry will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife- Debbie Bearden of Marion; 2 sons- Kevin Bearden and wife Staci of Savannah, GA and Larron Bearden of Marion; 1 daughter- Megan Dixon and husband Kyle of Marion; 8 cherished grandchildren, Hayden, Emma, Justin (Mollee), Makayla, Makenzie, Lukas, Macyn and Kolton and 3 great grandchildren, Arlee, Kollyns and Lennon; siblings- Danny Bearden, Cindy Conant and Kim Augustine of Florida and Marilyn Dalton of Champaign, IL and Jeanine of Downers Grove, IL. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one of his daughters, Traci Nicholson. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Southern Il and especially to Lora from TLC Home Care Services, whom he adored.

Larry will be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie Funeral Home in Herrin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
