Doreen P. Demyan

Doreen P. Demyan 58, Passed away Thursday September 21st 2023, suddenly at home. Doreen was born to Frank and Patricia Demyan of Grymes Hill. She was the youngest of five children. Doreen attended Notre Dame and Our Lady of Good Council Grammar School. She graduated from Concord High School in 1983.
Doreen learned the art of Cooking from her mother Patricia and older Sister, Dawn. They would often help their mother prepare dinner for the Family. She worked as a Chef, Waitress and Bartender. This field was in her blood since her family were the owners of Demyan's Hofbrau which was a popular place on Staten Island in the 60's and 70's. Doreen worked for her sister Denise as a Bartender at the Sandcastle Lounge and Crossroads Tavern. She was beloved by all the patrons. Her last job was as a waitress at LiGreci Staaten Restaurant.
Doreen lit up a room whenever she entered it. She had a bubbly personality that was infectious. Doreen had a Snow White effect with animals. Doreen was a care giver all of her adult life. She was the primary care giver for her mother. Anyone who was close to her would say they had a special relationship with her and they would be correct because she made everyone loved.
Doreen raised Danielle as her own Daughter. They had a special mother-daughter bond. Doreen was a special Aunt to all her Nieces and Nephews. They fondly called her Aunt Reen.
For the past decade, she shared a loving home with her sister Dawn, where they shared many loving memories together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Doreen was the loving sister to Denise Demyan, Richard Demyan, Dawn Demyan and the late Dennis Demyan. Devoted mother to Danielle Durando. Dear sister-in-law to Lizette Claro, Elizabeth Demyan and Deborah Demyan. Fond aunt to Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jesse and Zachary, and Great aunt to Alana and Reily.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Christopher Church located at 130 Midland Ave Staten Island, New York 10304. Cremation will be private.
