John R. Demyan

John R. Demyan, Jr., 82, of The Colony, Texas passed away on February 9, 2025 at home. John was born in Olean, New York to John and Florence Demyan on September 3, 1942. He grew up in Olean and lived there until moving to Texas in 1964. John was known by many of his friends as "Poppa Smurf" and was outgoing, gregarious, caring, funny, and lived his life in a big way.
John is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved companion Sherry Holland.
He is survived by his four children: Joyce Meredith, Christina Gale, John Demyan, III and Shawn Demyan, his son-in-law James Gale and daughters-in-law Amy Demyan and Lorena Eddy, and former wives Jacqueline Cerf and Vicki Durso. He was a loving and proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Haley, Megan, Allison, Audrey, Andie, Savanna, Eaven, and Stella.
Not surprisingly, John requested that his family forgo any services. We would like to thank all of the many doctors that cared for him for the past two years, all of his many friends, and his neighbors who looked after him. We encourage everyone to cherish their memories of him and do as he did and live life to the fullest.
