Dorine Motley Obituary

Dorine Anne Motley
Born: November 25, 1946
Died: October 17, 2025 in The Villages, FL
Dorine Anne Motley, 78, of The Villages, FL, began her Heavenly journey on October 17, 2025. Dorine was born on November 25, 1946, in Culver City, CA, to her loving parents; John and Marmette (Perry) Jereb.
Dorine was very talented and driven both in her family life and at work. She worked most of her life as a Pharmaceutical Technician. Dorine was a delightful collection of beautiful personalities. She was one of the kindest people to ever live with extreme grace. She brought competitiveness to all of her favorite games and pastimes: Golf, bowling, shuffleboard, pool, cards and board games... maybe even a little poker for fun.
Dorine's skills in the kitchen were unmatched-not just family cooking, but a wizard with all things tasty, from cookies made from scratch to wondrous appetizers to full-blown wedding cakes. Yet, despite the unlimited access to edible magic she created, she always maintained her teenage figure... likely because she burned off so much energy with hosting holidays and parties, daily walks with her dog, Buddy, deep-cleaning her home, sewing everything from dresses to cabbage patch dolls, to First-place Halloween costumes for her three beloved daughters...who won every year!
While Dorine had one true best friend-- her husband Jim-- there were legions of people who viewed her as their best friend. This is likely due to the fact when Dorine spoke with you, she was entirely focused on you alone. She loved to laugh with her friends and make them laugh. She possessed the kind of loyalty that ensured she was always there if you needed her.
A beautiful lady inside and out, Dorine was not only pleasantly meticulous in everyday things like ensuring she looked her best, but also applied that focus on things related to her husband, daughters, in-laws, and grandchildren. She remembered to celebrate each person she knew on important dates of their lives and shared the joy by ensuring the arrival of a card to you on that exact day. She loved Christmas, and all gifts she mailed around the country were "wrapped to the nines."
Dorine will be missed by all who knew her, both in Illinois and The Villages. The world is now a less colorful place, and those who knew her will be missing times of love and laughter until they see her again. Her class, manners, and joyful approach to life will keep her forever alive in all who encountered her.
Dorine is survived by her Husband, James Motley, The Villages, FL, Daughter, Denise Johnson (husband Greg Berlin), Summerfield, FL, Daughter, Heidi Johnson (Husband Prioleau Alexander) Charleston, SC, Daughter, Wendy Johnson ( Husband Jay Landsiedel) Edwards, IL, Step-son, Nathan Motley (wife, Rachel) Ankeny, IA, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and1 great-great granddaughter.
Dates and locations for a celebration of her life in Illinois will be provided to friends and colleagues by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dorine's loving memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. (https://www.stjude.org press "one-time" donate, enter Dorine Motley)
