Doris "Bunnie" Amici

Doris “Bunnie” Amici passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 2:00 a.m., surrounded by her loved ones. She was simply the best — the best mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. The absolute best. A kind, gentle, loving soul whose presence made people feel safe, seen, and deeply cared for.

Born in Ithaca, New York, Doris spent her life serving others with humility and heart. She worked in daycare for many years and then dedicated over 30 years at the Ithaca High School cafeteria, where she was genuinely loved and adored by students, faculty, and coworkers alike.

One of Doris’s greatest gifts was her ability to take time with people. No matter who you were or how busy she was, she made you feel special. She listened fully, smiled easily, and had a way of making everyone feel like they mattered — because to her, they did.

Family was everything to Doris. She treasured time spent with loved ones and found true joy in helping others. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dominic Amici, to whom she was a devoted and loving wife.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wilson, and son-in-law Ray Wilson; her grandchildren: Ashley Switzer (husband Zach Switzer), Megan, and Kyle; and her great-granddaughter Anna. She is also survived by her son, Dominic Amici, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Amici; and her grandchildren Dominic and Gracie; and her sister Cindy and brother- in- law Albert Smith.

Doris was the cherished daughter of Ellie Dollaway and Robert Hunt.

Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will live on through the many lives she touched. We were all better because of her.

A Mass will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church.
