Doris Jean Bernardine, 85, of Pennington Gap went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at her residence.
Doris was born on May 20, 1938 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Charles Lee Boggs and Flora Marcum Boggs Lambert. Doris proudly obtained her GED all while being a mother and working to provide by her family. She worked as a greeter and clerical at Voran Funeral Home in Taylor, Michigan. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Shaun Lee; sisters, Jessie Coleman, Helen Roberts, and Midge Stidham; great granddaughter, Erika Bernardine; and the father of her children, Norman Bernardine.
Those left to cherish her memory are her precious fur baby, Katy; daughter, Angela Ramsey and husband William; grandchildren, Amber St. Andrew, Cody Nasarzewski, Nicholas Nasarzewski, Jonathan Ramsey, Samantha Hollobaugh, Alyssa Bernardine, and Adrianna Bernardine; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Audia and Pat Tankersly; brothers, G.W. Marcum and Dennis Boggs; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with pastor Roy Webb officiating. Ella Fultz will provide music.
A committal service will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
