Doris Ann Bickett, 91, passed away at home on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 13, 1933, to Agnes and Ted Vowels, her late parents.
She retired from Jefferson County Public Schools as a supervisor for the maintenance department and was a lifelong member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Everywhere she went, she never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 70 years, Richard Bickett; grandson, Kalum Payne; and siblings, Francis, Joy, Johnny, Teddy, and Rita.
Doris is survived by her children, Gary Bickett, Jack Bickett (Carolyn), and Bobby Bickett (Christy); grandchildren, Austin Watts, Lyndsey (Alan), John (Taylor), Austin (Paige), Tyler, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Kynlee, Karson, Keegan, John, and Hazel; and sister, Mary Hartlage (Kenny).
Services will be held at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. The visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
