Doris Brisson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Saint Pauls Funeral Home on Feb. 10, 2025.
On February 8, 2025, Doris Jean Brisson peacefully went home to be with the Lord and reunite with her beloved sons, Joel Kevin and Willie Pete, in heaven.
Born on June 2, 1942, to Maggie and Charlie Jackson, Doris devoted her life to making a difference in the world. As a teacher, she touched countless lives, shaping the futures of so many students with her kindness and dedication. "Mrs. Brisson" spent more than 30 years in the classroom, earning numerous accolades, including multiple "Teacher of the Year" awards. But her greatest gift was not the awards-it was the deep, lasting impact she made on her students.
Doris was more than just an educator-she was a beacon of love and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. For over 60 years, she shared a beautiful life with her soulmate, William Howard Brisson Sr. Together, they built a foundation of love, laughter, and memories, creating a legacy that will live on in their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Doris's greatest joy came from the simple things in life-getting lost in the pages of a good book, quietly watching birds, and being surrounded by the warmth and love of family. She treasured every moment in life, whether it was spent fishing or gathering around the dinner table with her loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Howard Brisson Sr., her daughter, Rhonda Dodson (Cliff) her granddaughters: Randi Brisson (Joey), and Terri Gamble (Tyler) and six great-grandchildren: Jasper, Tyler, Kendal, Nathaniel, Madison, and Rylan. Doris also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Suggs (Bruce); and her brother, Ronnie Jackson(Mary) and a host of extended family.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie and Charlie Jackson; her brother, Sammie Jackson; and her beloved sons, Joel Kevin Brisson and William Brisson Jr.
A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Boles-St. Paul's Funeral Home.
Services entrusted to Boles-St. Pauls Funeral Home in St. Paul's.
