Trinity

Funeral service for Doris Jean Canon, 73, of Trinity will be Sunday, January 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Mayes and Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.

Mrs. Canon was born in Attalla on June 11, 1940, to Jessie Mae Snell and Charles Edward Eden Jr. She passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Joe Eden; her sisters, Dorothy Talton and Diane Dixon. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had the gift of making every one she met feel special and loved. She was an active member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Her bright blue eyes and lovely smile brightened up many lives. She fought bravely till the end and we rejoice now she is no longer fighting, but walking the streets of Heaven with her Redeemer.

She is survived by husband, Sherrell Canon; daughter, Cathy Denise Putman (James Barry); brothers, Robert Eden; sisters, Dean Cox (Clyde Morrison) and Virginia Gail Gowens; granddaughters, Jessica Lauren Lane (Whit) and Breanna Danielle Putman; great-granddaughter, Ellie Mae Lane and many special friends who are too many to mention.

Pallbearers will be Tony Word, Brent Word, Jim Dendy, Shane Hastings, Tyler Stovall and Josh McKenzie.
