Doris Mae Harthcock Carnathan, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savor Jesus Christ
on Wednesday October 15, 2025just two weeks shy of her 93 birthday.
Doris was born October 26,1932 to Beatrice Sims and Claude Harthcock in Holmes
County, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Bobbie Bonderer, her
daughter Mary Bea Carnathan and her grandson Shea Carnathan.
Doris was a devoted mother to Jackie Carnathan Sanford, Bubber Carnathan ( Tess) and
Don Carnathan ( Pam). She was also a devoted Grandmother, Great-grandmother and
great-great- grandmother to 5 grandchildren Libby Carnathan Grantham ( John), Luke
Carnathan ( Trish), Patrick Sanford, Julia Sanford and Sarah Carnathan:
5 great-grandchildren, Lawson McReynolds, Reese McReynolds, Anna Reeves Sanford,
Braeden Kahoe and Alana Carnathan and 1 Great-great- grandchild, Slade McReynolds.
Doris was so please to have had a picture taken with 5 generations before her passing.
Doris is best known for her dedication to the Lord as a member of the First Baptist Church
in Lexington, Mississippi and her great love for her family. Her legacy will be seen and felt
for many generations through all of the lives of friends and family she has touched and
influenced. She will be forever missed.
A celebration of life is to be held at Southern Funeral Home in Lexington, Mississippi
on October 17, 2025 with visitation held from 12 to 2 P.M and service immediately
following. Burial will be at Pinecrest Cemetery in Tchula, Mississippi.
In Lieu of flowers the family asked for memorials to be sent to St Jude Children's Hospital
or Fist Baptist Church, Lexington, Mississippi in honor of Doris.
