Doris Cissner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Melcher Sowers Funeral Home on Mar. 4, 2026.
Doris J. Cissner, age 96, of Piqua, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her residence. She was born November 28,1929, in Sidney, Ohio, to her late parents Carl and LaDonna (Bird) Nead. She married her husband Charles "Bud" M. Cissner on August 12,1950 in Covington, Ohio and he preceded her in death on February 4,2010.

Doris was a beautiful woman with a kind heart, and she will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her three children: Teena Cissner, Piqua, OH; Taffy Burch, Piqua, OH; Todd (Diana) Cissner, Piqua, OH; daughter in law: Cathy Huber, Greenville, OH; two grandchildren: Nicole Cissner, and Penelope Boggs, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by, one son: Timothy L. Cissner, one brother: Donald Nead, two sisters: Dorothy Pressel, Martha Retterbush and one son in law: Clifford L. Burch.

Doris was a loving mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed planning and preparing family meals. A quick-witted woman who could have us laughing in a second. She looked forward to her daily crossword, a competitive game of scrabble and spending time on her front porch playing 500 Rum. Doris loved the beauty of the summer sky, the sudden appearance of a rainbow, and the splendor of a full moon. Always reminding us to look up, and we will be looking up. Rest in peace Dear Mama.
