Prophetess Doris Coppage Obituary Prophetess Doris 'Lorraine' Coppage, 69, of Rocky Mount, NC, entered into eternal rest on March 11, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at The Way of the Cross Church, with a viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery. Ministry of Comfort has been entrusted to Paradise Funeral Home Inc.
Doris Lorraine Coppage, was united with her heavenly father on Tuesday, Mach 11, 2025. She was born on May 28, 1955, in Bethel NC to the late Helen Taylor. She was known as "Lo or Lorraine" to her community. She attended public schools in Bethel NC. She later furthered her education at Edgecombe Community College.
She wore many hats, first and foremost she was a woman of God. She was also known as the "candy lady", having her own candy store in Princeville NC. She loved horses and cowboys, traveling, eating, and trying her best to sing whenever she could. Above all else she loved worshipping and serving the Lord. She also had a unweaving loving for her community.
She was a certified dental assistant, certified nursing assistant, and an ordained prophet at the Way of the Cross Church. She founded and established her own work in the gospel in 2008, Rainbow Covenant Outreach Ministry where she was committed to feeding and clothing the community and supporting the youth. She opened her home to those in need and would guide many in their walk-in ministry.
She was a faithful and loyal member of The Way of The Cross Church under Dr. Martha S. Parker and Pastor Lenward Parker. She also served faithfully assisting at Rebirth Deliverance Ministry International under Apostle Pastor Yolander Best. She loved her brothers and sister in Christ. In Ministry she was known as a prophet, prayer warrior, and well-disciplined faster and loyal solider in the army of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Taylor; her sister, Agnes Cherry; her brother, Ray Coppage; her aunts, Ann Braggs, Teen Morning, Net Person, Thelma Jordan, and Gladys Jolly; her cousin, Ann Wilkins; her sister in Christ, Linda Kincard; and her Pastor Dr. Martha S. Parker.
She leaves to cherish her daughter Katrina Coppage, of the home; her son Terrance Coppage, of New York; her brother, Karl Taylor, of New York; her grandchildren Destiny, of Texas; Gabreil Coppage, of the home and Lilley, of New York; and her nephew, Kelvin Cherry, of New York. She also leaves behind her best friend Apostle/Pastor Yolander Best; her goddaughter, Rea Onia Best; her cousin, Nikki "Fat Gal"Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
