Archer-Milton Funeral Home - Lake ButlerDoris Estelle Danson gently departed this world on September 25, 2025, surrounded by her family at her daughter's home in Raiford. At 95 years, Doris’s heart remained ever true to her lifelong home in Lawtey, FL, but her spirit now rests eternally with her Lord and Savior. Born August 9, 1930, in Greenville, South Carolina, Doris was the daughter of Raymond and Viola McCauley and the second eldest among five siblings.
Her legacy is carried on by her children—Charles Rigdon, Donna Rigdon Jackson, and Marian Danson Griffis—and her treasured grandchildren: Annette Griffis, Frankie O’steen, Pam Rigdon, Nickie Rigdon, Michelle Griffis, and David Walling. Doris’s love reached across generations, blessing 17 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, and countless others whom she helped raise, each touched by her boundless warmth and guiding strength.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, her four siblings, her two husbands, and her beloved life partner of 52 years, Carlos Norman. Doris will always be remembered for her unwavering work ethic, her generous spirit, and the many lives—especially those of children—she shaped with her unconditional love. Her memory will be a tender light in the hearts of all who knew her.
A graveside service to honor Doris will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Kingsley Lake Cemetery with Pastor Roy Vining officiating. Archer-Milton Funeral Home is honored to serve Doris' family during this time. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com
