DePLANTY, Doris Eileen - Age 84, of Linden, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Crestmont HealthCare Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 PM Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton, with Fr. David Harvey celebrating. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 2:30 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign. Doris was born March 5, 1926 in Girard, OH, the daughter of Frank Edward and Louella Elizabeth (Fankhauser) Durig. She has resided in the Linden-Fenton area for many years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Doris worked as a waitress for Tyrone Hills, Hawaiian Gardens and Spring Meadows. Surviving are: 2 sons, LaVerne "Vern" DePlanty of Flint and H. Edward "Ed" DePlanty and wife Linda of Fenton; 3 grandchildren, Ciara, Cody and Danelle; 2 sisters, Dorothy M. Cristen and Martha Marie Paisons; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Frederick Lee DePlanty.
