Doris Colyer Dinning of Davidson, NC, passed away September 12, 2025. Doris was born in Middletown, KY on December 13, 1936. She was the oldest of 7 children. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bob Dinning. Her two daughters, Lora Chisholm (Tom) and Lisa Henningsen (Russ). Her grandchildren Allen Chisholm (Samantha), Katie Hansen (Ryan), Garrett Lyon, Spencer Chisholm (Kirsten) and Shelby Henningsen. She also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, Grayson, Baker and Piper.
Doris graduated from Eastern High School in Louisville, KY where she met her husband Bob their Senior year.
They moved to Winston-Salem in 1963 where they lived for 51 years. They were members of Knollwood Baptist Church where she served on many committees.
Doris was a longtime member of the Sanderstead Bridge Club. She volunteered at Baptist Hospital and Forsyth County Schools.
She was a member of Forsyth Country Club where she was an active golfer.
Ten years ago she and Bob moved to The Pines at Davidson to be near family.
A service to honor this special woman will be held Monday, September 22 at 2:00pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home of Huntersville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
