William Dinning Obituary
was born to W. G. Dinning, Jr. and Vera Margaret Brown Dinning in Memphis, Tennessee on
August 26, 1949, and grew up in Helena, Arkansas. He graduated from The University of West Florida in 1972.
Groves started his career as a sales representative with Binswanger Glass in Memphis, and got to the ocean as soon as he could by opening an outpost in the northeast. His true love was to sail!
He had many adventures on the bounding main, including captaining a cross-Atlantic trip! He
was a lifetime honorary member of the Kittery Point Yacht Club and was instrumental in the establishment of sailing classes for underprivileged children. Groves was predeceased by his parents, younger brother Jefferson Tanner Dinning, and his twin sister Darcy Lyn Dinning. He is survived by a sister, Sarah Sharum Dinning of Little Rock, Arkansas and a daughter, Arleigh Cara Dinning of Concord, New Hampshire.
