Robert F. Seely
1944-2026

Bob passed away peacefully at home on February 11 in Exeter,
New Hampshire.

He was born in Englewood, New Jersey, and grew up in New York's
Mid-Hudson Valley, which always remained a special place to him.

Bob graduated from Mount Hermon School before attending Princeton University, where he majored in history at the Woodrow
Wilson School, class of 1966.

After serving for two years as an officer in the Army in Korea during the Vietnam War, he earned his law degree from Cornell University.

As an attorney, Bob specialized in Customs and International Trade Law, representing clients in US Customs service rulings and
litigation.

He began his career at the Commerce Department in Washington, DC, in the International Trade Administration. In 1989, he joined the law firm of Katten Muchin & Zavis in Chicago, and then in 2002 joined the New York office of Grunfeld Desiderio Lebowitz Silverman & Klestadt where he retired Of Counsel in 2020.

Bob was an avid gardener and loved old houses and antiques. The restoration of their historic 1868 Victorian home in New Jersey merited being placed on the National Register of Historic Places. He was well-read and enjoyed a lifelong interest in history, current affairs, astronomy, and earth sciences.

Bob will be remembered as an amiable, thoughtful gentleman with a dry sense of humor who enjoyed good friends and had a deep abiding
love for his family. He also had an ardent affection for each of the family dogs over the years, loyal companions who he loved taking for long walks.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebeccah (Becky), his son, Ted and his wife Jessica, his grandsons, Asher and Max, and many nieces and nephews and in-laws. He is also survived by his nephew, Rev. Edward Seely of Loveland, Colorado.

The family would appreciate any memorial donations in Bob's name to be made in support of hospice care to Philanthropy for Hospice, 41
Mall Road, Burlington, Massachusetts 01805. (781) 744-3333.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at The Stockbridge Funeral Home in Exeter on June 19th.
