Doris Jean (Chase) Falck was born to Clarence E. and Fern E. (Brewer) Chase on October 25, 1938, in Friend, NE. She was the youngest of twelve children. She died on February 9, 2026, at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury, Nebraska at the age of 87. Doris enjoyed growing up on a farm near Friend, Nebraska, and attended elementary school at Prairie Hill School in Saline County. As a teenager, she attended Friend High School, where she had many friends and enjoyed participating in drama, band, and cheerleading. On November 14, 1956, she married Neil Falck of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. They had four children: Kenny, Kris, Shelly, and Lisa. Some of the greatest joys they shared as a family were loading up the kids every weekend to go to horse shows and showing at the county fair every summer. Doris and Neil lived in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska as newlyweds then moved to Oklahoma and Colorado until finally making their permanent home in Nebraska. After living in Alexandria, Nebraska for several years, in 1983, they moved to Western Nebraska. While living there, she worked at Jefferson Community Health Center as the head evening cook and retired in 2003 after 20 years. After retiring, Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved watching their softball games and coming to their school activities and always loved seeing them when they came for a visit. She especially enjoyed going to the library and finding another great book to read, and she read many! In March of 2019, Doris moved to Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury, Nebraska. She grew to enjoy living there and loved participating in activities, especially bag toss, where she won
trophy of the month. She took a lot of walks, stopping along the way to visit with staff and residents. She also liked sitting outside in the garden, enjoying all the plants and flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil, sisters LuEtta Wagner, Leone Henke, Retha Chase, and Carol Osborne, brothers Cecil, Wayne, Leslie, Herbert, Delbert, and Loren Chase. She is survived by her sister Opal Rule of Pawnee City, Nebraska; son Kenny Falck of Daykin, Nebraska; daughters and son-in-laws Kris and Kim Harrold of Arvada, Colorado; Shelly and Pat Bonifas of Eaton, Colorado; Lisa and Kent Endorf of Tobias, Nebraska; grandchildren Brad and Jamie Falck of Seward, Nebraska; Chris Falck of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Keanan Harrold of Denver, Colorado; Kendra and Zac Zimmer of Denver, Colorado; Jami and Rob Montoya of Fort Collins, Colorado; Jordan and Annie Bonifas of Fort Collins, Colorado; Kate and Brant Stewart of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ann and Brandon Jackson of Kansas City, Kansas; and Grant Endorf of Daykin, Nebraska; great-grandchildren Addison Falck, Haylee Falck, Riyan and Breanna Krajnik, Zoey and Brayden Zimmer, Lucy and Cooper Montoya, Pax, Esme' and Hana Bonifas, Bodie Stewart, and Evelyn Jackson.
