Doris Mae Full, 87, of Mineral Wells, WV, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Cedar Grove Assisted Living in Parkersburg, WV.
Daughter of the late Arnold Fairfax and Leinore Dearing Athey, Doris was born April 5, 1937 in Pettyville, WV. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and Mountain State Business School, where she received her business degree. She retired as manager of Market Manor High Rise after 20 years of dedicated service.
Doris was a devoted Christian and an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, KoCo, and her sorority. She and her husband Billy lived on Blair Avenue for 56 years and cherished their time spent with their neighbors, known as the "Blair Avenue Bunch." Doris loved cooking, quilting, playing piano, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Felicia, Nathan, and Justin.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Billy Augustus Full and her brother, Frank Lee Athey.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Full (Lori) of Mineral Wells; daughter, Dora Lea Thompson (Richard) of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Felicia Swecker, Nathan Full, and Justin Thompson; sister-in-law, JoAnn Athey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home on Pike St. with Pastor Jamie Sprague officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg, WV.
