MINSTER - Doris Irene Gill, age 91, of Minster, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026. She was born January 19, 1935, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Effie (Cotterman) Pittman.
She married James Gill on February 14, 1986, and he preceded her in death October 22, 2017.
Doris is survived by children, Jeanne (Steve) Weaver of Lakeview, Darrell (Donna) Pellman of Appling, Georgia, Carl (Beverly) Pellman of Sidney, grandchildren; Michael Monnier of Casstown, Michele (Jim) Kaiser of Waukee, Iowa, Christopher Cook (Brandi) of Sidney, Carla (Ben) Reser of North Bend, Washington, Darrell (Lisa) Pellman Jr. of Thomson, Georgia, Dustin Pellman of Sidney, great grandchildren; Christopher Cook Jr. of St. John's, Michigan, Victoria Stewart of North Carolina, Alexander Pellman of Thomson, Georgia, also four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are nine stepchildren; Bonnie (Danny) Loomis of Billingley, Alabama, Barry (Rhonda) Gill of New Bremen, Bob Gill of Sidney, Brenda (John) Jackson of Sidney, Belinda Fetters and fiancé Bob Fleck of Uniopolis, Ohio, Brent (Billie Jo) Gill of Anna, Benjamin (Pamela) Gill of Port Jefferson, Bettina (Terry) Brown of Sidney, Bevan (Elizabeth) Gill of Anna, 23 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, siblings; Ruth Barhorst of Piqua, Beverly (Al) Feroni of Hoschton, Georgia, Roger (Beth) Brown of Anna, Duane (Sis) Brown of Mabank, Texas.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, James Gill, four sisters and three brothers, Thelma Bray, Geneva Bennett, Virginia Pittman, Marcella Bodenmiller, Gerald Pittman, Lawrence Pittman, Vernon Pittman, and daughter Cheryl Cook of St. Johns, Michigan.
Doris was a 1954 graduate of Sidney High School. She retired from Fairhaven Nursing Home in Sidney where she worked as a nursing assistant and laundress. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Thomson, Georgia. She enjoyed doing ring a word and building puzzles and painting her husband's crafts. She was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals football team.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney. Contributions may be made to donor's choice in Doris's memory.
