Doris Grant Obituary
Doris Wise Grant, 75, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Percy H. and Claryne Griggs Wise.
Doris dedicated over 30 years of her career to the Sara Lee Corporation, after which she continued to embrace life with energy, working as a waitress at various restaurants. Her passions included singing, traveling, playing sports well into her 30's, and experiencing the thrill of skydiving, all of which brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bud Grant; a daughter, Gabrielle Rainwater; her sisters, Janet Wease and Shirley Tinkham; and a grandson, David G. Rainwater, Jr.
Doris leaves behind a loving family, including her son, David (Tabitha) Rainwater of Cheraw, SC; her daughter, Shannon Marie Murray of Rockingham, NC; and a host of grandchildren: Meighan (Matt) Quinn, Celeste Rainwater, Trevor Rainwater, Chazz Murray, and Azpen Murray, as well as five great-grandchildren.
Her vibrant spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Kiser Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery, Rockingham, NC.
