Doris Janelle Hardin, affectionately known to her family and friends as Granny Doris, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in McRae, Georgia, just days before her 88th birthday. Born on December 19, 1937, in Milan, Georgia, Doris lived a life devoted to her family and community.
A dedicated professional, Doris spent many years serving with Telfair County EMS and Telfair Regional Hospital. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother, daughter and sister.
Doris is survived by her loving children, Donna (Richie) Sapp of McRae, and Bill (Daphne) Hardin of Alamo. She leaves behind cherished siblings, including brothers Guy (Mary) Selph of Savannah, Grady (Faye) Selph of Americus, Eddie (Janie) Selph of Bonaire, sister Denise (Cauley) Bowen of Fitzgerald and sister-in-law, Gail Selph of Milan. Doris is also remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Chris Davis, William Tripp, William "Bubba" Hardin, Hoke Hardin, Samantha Hardin, and Konner Hardin, all of whom were a great source of joy in her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Silas "Bill" Hardin; her parents, Hoke and Lois Gertrude Johns Selph; and her brother, Jimmy Selph. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Doris.
Visitation will be held on December 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Midway Methodist Church, located on Temperance Road. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location, at 2:00 PM.
Doris Janelle Hardin will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched.
