Doris Fay Hendrix, born on February 15, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. Doris was a devoted member of the Beulah Land Cowboy Church in Martin, TN, where she contributed greatly to the faith community. Doris enjoyed playing hymns on the piano and organ and teaching classes in church. Her unwavering love for the Lord and her passion for sharing her faith with others were hallmarks of her character.
Doris dedicated nearly 30 years of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Martin Hospital, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and care. Her commitment to those in need reflected her nurturing spirit, a quality that endeared her to many.
Doris was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters, Donna (Jeff) Boyd and Diane (late husband Tim) Garner, her brother Wendell McGehee, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. They will cherish the memories of her kindness, laughter, and love.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hendrix; her parents, Felix McGehee and Lucille Thompson; her son, Curtis Bennett; and her sister, Betty Jordan
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Doris' legacy of love and faith will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.
