Doris Jean Hurtt, 93, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, May 23, 2025, in Salem.
She was born on Myatt Creek in Fulton County, on November 13, 1931, daughter of the late W.H. and Vera (Sutherland) Reynolds. Doris was united in marriage to Earl Friday Hurtt on May 20, 1950, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and from this union four children were born. During her working years, Doris worked for the Collectors Office and was a homemaker. Doris enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family, crossword puzzles, working in the garden, flowers and cooking for her family. She was an avid reader, always having a book by her side even when she passed. Doris loved her family. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved anything that involved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Her family came first. Doris was a member of Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas.
Doris is survived by her sons, Larry Hurtt (Jean) of Diamond City, Arkansas, William Hurtt (Lisa) of Salem, Arkansas and Tim Hurtt (Lisa M) of Salem, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Frances Hurtt; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda), Jeremy (Stacie), Justin, Rusty (Kirby), Robbie (Megan), Lexie (John) and Jenna; 16 great grandchildren; brothers, Doyle Reynolds (Shirley) of Salem, Arkansas and Dale Reynolds (Evelyn) of Nixa, Missouri; sister, Nicky Mendenhall of Salem, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Joyce Gay of Salem, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Friday Hurtt; infant son, Ricky Dale; parents; sister, Kathryn Reeves and brothers, Billy Reynolds and Harold Reynolds.
Pallbearers include: Jason Hurtt, Jeremy Hurtt, Justin Hurtt, Rusty Hurtt, Robbie Hurtt and Riley Hurtt
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 27, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Mike Yates and Bro. David Gibson officiating at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Camp Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
