Doris B. Jarest, 88, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, in the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Blanche (Glaude) Deneault. She resided in Cumberland for the past 20 years, previously residing in Central Falls for most of her life.
Doris was a member of the Chimney Hill Apartment resident's association where she spent many years on the board. She was a member of the WII Bowl League where she also scored a perfect score of 300. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan, and also like to attend the former Pawtucket Red Sox, but most of all spending time with her beloved grandchildren and the family dog Sunny.
She was employed as a custodian working for Manhattan Housing at Esmond Village Apartments and Bear Hill Village Apartments for many years, previously she was a foot press operator for the former Nulco Manufacturing, Pawtucket.
She is survived by her children: Simone Kaar and her husband Jeff of Port Charlotte, FL., Annette Poulin and her husband Tom of Cumberland, and Maurice (Pete) Jarest of Central Falls. Her six grandchildren: Rene Pinault and his wife Stacy of West Warwick, Christine Graham of North Carolina, Tommy Poulin of Cumberland, Gracie Moniz and her husband Chris of Whitinsville, MA, Maddi Poulin of Cumberland, and Robert Jarest of Wrentham, along with six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert Jarest and sister of the late Robert Deneault and Alfred Deneault.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Doris' Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM and continuing on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to JDRF, 62 Walnut Street #5, Wellesley, MA 02481.
