Peterborough, NH - Clifford K. Jarest, 100, longtime resident of Peterborough, NH, passed away on August 10, 2023, at Monadnock Community Hospital following a brief illness.

Clifford was born in Peterborough, NH, on May 27, 1923, the son of the late Remi and Eva (Hill) Jarest.

He attended high school in Peterborough and graduated in the class of 1942. He went on to attend the University of New Hampshire for a year before enlisting in the United States Army where he served from 1943 to 1946. After which he enlisted in the United States Air Force, during World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and retired as Master Sergeant in 1983. He became a member of The American Legion Post #5 in Peterborough where he served for 55 years.

Clifford worked as a Senior Purchasing Agent at NH Ball Bearing in Peterborough until his retirement. He enjoyed living a quiet life with his beloved wife Dorothy. He had recently celebrated his 100th birthday with a small celebration at Scott-Farrar in Peterborough.

In addition to both parents, Clifford was predeceased by his brothers Horace A. Jarest, William Jarest,

Clayton Jarest, Octave Jarest, Howard Jarest and his beloved wife Dorothy Jarest.

He is fondly remembered by his niece, Diane LaRoche and her husband Peter, and their son Tyler LaRoche, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Graveside service with full military honors will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery (upper) on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Father Sandford R. Johnson will officiate.
