Doris Christine (Davis) Kimball, 75, of Wellsboro, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born August 23, 1950, in Blossburg, to David Hunter and Dorothy Jane (English) Davis. Doris dedicated better than twenty years working as a Nurse's Aide at The Green Home in Wellsboro. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and BBQ picnics with her family. The lyrics to The Old Rugged Cross held special meaning to Doris: On a hill far away, stood an old rugged Cross, The emblem of suff'ring and shame, And I love that old Cross where the dearest and best, For a world of lost sinners was slain,
So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down, I will cling to the old rugged Cross, And exchange it some day for a crown.
She is survived by three children: Tammy Grinnell of Middlebury Center, Terry D. (Odette) Kimball of Winchester, VA, and Rhonda Kimball of Mansfield; four grandchildren: Christopher (Catherine) Wimbrough of Mansfield, Amanda (Isaac) Lopez of Fayetteville, NC, Ashley (Dana) Holsomback of Ypsilanti, MI, and Hunter Colyer of Fayetteville, NC; and four sisters: Linda, Shirley, Rosemary, and Tina. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Kimberly Kimball, and a sister: Beverly Button.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no public services, and her arrangements have been entrusted to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA. To share a memory or condolence with her family visit [email protected].
