CEDAR FALLS - Doris I. Loger, 99, died Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Wisconsin.
She was born on January 17, 1926, in Pickering, Missouri, the daughter of Guy and Lela Carmichael Wray. She lived in the Cedar Falls, Waterloo area for most of her life. She married John Loger May 29, 1976 at Immanuel Baptist Church. Previously, Doris owned Doris's Grill and the Hilltop Cafe in Cedar Falls and later she was a maintenance supervisor at the University of Northern Iowa , retiring in 1987. She was ordained November 23, 2001 by the evangelic team of Anchor Bay, Assembly of God. Doris served as Chaplin and bible study leader at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Manor Care, and Cedar Falls Health Care. She also worked part time at the Maid Rite and volunteered at Mama Nicks Pizzzeria. She was a tireless worker for God. In between she cleaned area houses and businesses. She also served as a pastor at Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Denver, Iowa for twenty years.
Doris is survived by daughters, Carolyn from Oregon, WI and Sherry from Katy, TX.; son, John (April) from Wylie TX; stepson, Jim (Jean) Loger of Dike IA; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and five sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Lela Wray; husband, John Loger; brothers, Paul, Bill, Hugh, Guy Jr., Doyle, Bob, and Dean Wray; and a sister, Mary Taylor.
Services 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls, with interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Online condolences may be left at:
